“But understand this, that in the last days dangerous times of great stress and trouble will come – difficult days that will be hard to bear.

For people will be lovers of self – narcissistic, self-focused, lovers of money – impelled by greed, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy and profane.

And they will be unloving – devoid of natural human affection, calloused and inhumane, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, devoid of self-control, haters of good.

…traitors, reckless, conceited, lovers of sensual pleasure rather than lovers of God, holding to a form of outward godliness (religion) although they have denied its power – because their conduct nullifies their claim of faith.”

(2 Timothy 3:2-5)

“For the time will come when people will not tolerate sound doctrine and accurate instruction, that challenges them with God’s truth. But wanting to have their ears tickled with something pleasing, they will accumulate for themselves many teachers to satisfy their own desires and to support the errors they hold.

They will turn their ears away from the truth and will wander off into myths and man-made fictions and will accept the unacceptable.”

(2Timothy 4:3-4)

That is why people murder the innocent in the name of doing God’s will. A ‘holy war’ is not holy but evil. It is time it is given the correct title. These deceived followers of a man-made book are not serving God, but Satan himself.

It’s so hard to feel secure in this world when all around us is in turmoil. God lovingly gave us his love story – the bible so we will have hope. Yes, things look bleak when there is another shooting in a school and suicide bombs exploding in the face of the innocent. But he loves us so much that he did not leave us without a comforter. His Holy Spirit will give us the peace we need if we let him. It’s not about being super-spiritual – it’s about letting go and letting him mould us into the godly people he created us to be. I pray you will find him and discover how you can smile even when times are really hard.
