“I have told you these things so that you will have perfect peace. In this world you will have trouble but take heart, I have overcome the world.” John 16:33
I‘m not fond of blogging about politics – it’s not my thing. But sometimes Christians need to speak out rather than hiding behind comments on the news and social media.
How quickly do we forget that the good old days were not so good?
How foolish is it to claim the grass is greener on the other side of the pond?
I admit I don’t know all the facts about President Trump, but I do know he’s certainly not the worst politician the USA has had leading the country.
People all too easily forget the verbal blunders of the others gone by. He is not the only one who has expressed bigotry, arrogance and mockery towards the public.
I published an article a while ago, highlighting the rudeness and blasphemy of Barack Obama. At the time of his speech, Christians across the world quite rightly delivered a rebuff. But it was soon laid aside when a white, big-mouth billionaire rose to power and began talking negatively about ethnic groups, handicapped people and women.
With regards to the previous president, I still don’t understand why negro Christians support and applaud someone who would publicly slate the Bible and Jesus.
Who are we following? Christ who is all righteous, all knowing, all wisdom, all powerful and simply amazing, or a president who is black?
So here’s a link to the blog just to remind you dear friends that it’s not such a drastic shock having Trump elected. To copy parts of his phrase, yes he mostly talks out of his whatever, but so did others.
And although many will hotly disagree with me, when it comes to leaders of the USA, there have been worse.
