No Confusion About Love

light bites for your heart

Whenever I sit down to watch a movie, I have to put on the subtitles if it’s an American film.

For some reason my ears cannot decipher their rapid speech and I miss half the plot.

When the news is on and the intelligent anchors proceed to relay their daily report about what’s happening in the stock market, I stare at the screen blankly.

The Footsie slumps, the Pound soars,  the Index Value changes, the Share Index wavers…

Eh?

Then they announce that the market as closed and I think of all those people in heavy over-coats and finger-less gloves, packing away their fruit in the pouring rain, stacking wooden boxes under a canopy until it ceases so they can run to their van.

Umm, I don’t think I’d be any good working at Wall Street. After all, I thought Dow Jones was a cowboy.

But this morning I praise God for his loving words that are full of simplicity and compassion.

The Bible was written so even a child would understand. Many people go to university to study theology and that’s fine if that’s what they believe God wants them to do.

But you don’t need to be a scholar to understand what your Creator is lovingly telling you.

He says:

In the same way, I tell you there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents – that is, changes his inner-self, his old ways of thinking, regrets past ins, lives his life in a way that proves repentance and seeks God’s purposes for his life.” (Luke 14:10 Amplified)

I am so thankful that my God took the time to write the Bible – his love letter to you and me.

I am so grateful that he helps me understand it and that each day he is waiting to speak to me through it, convicting me of sins, showing me how to change, comforting me in my distress, being my companion in my loneliness, granting me peace in the evil world, showering me with his love and giving me hope for the future.

Deep down, you want this too because you were created that way.

Please don’t be in denial any longer.

Here’s how to start:

May God bless you all abundantly.
