Right now, there a quite a few people I know who are going through really hard times. While sending the psalm below to a few of them, I thought I would take the time to share it with you too, as you may be needing the same comfort. Or you may know of someone else who does.

If you identify it, please read it as a prayer, for that is why he placed it in his word in the first place. He knows we need him and he knows that sometimes our own words fail us. That’s the beauty of the Psalms:

Psalm 70

Please God, rescue me!

Come quickly Lord and help me.

May those who try to kill me be humiliated and put to shame.

May those who take delight in my trouble be turned back in disgrace.

Let them be horrified by their shame, for they said,

“Aha! We’ve got her/him now!”

But may all who search for you be filled with joy and gladness in you.

May those who love your salvation repeatedly shout, “God is great!”

But as for me, I am poor and needy; please hurry to my aid, oh God.

You are my helper and my Saviour; oh Lord, do not delay.
