It is important to state at the beginning that:
God instructs Christians to honour all leaders whether evil or godly. I agree with the advice of John Bevere in his book, ‘Honor’s Reward’, which states that it is a sin to speak out negatively against anyone placed in authority over us, whether it be a politician, teacher, the police, traffic wardens, the taxman, a pastor or a parent. It is not my right to publicly or privately critisize or murmur contempt against him – it’s his speech I am condemning, not him. Like the rest of us, he is in God’s hands and God is the righteous judge, not me.
“My dear children, the end is near. You have heard that the enemy of Christ is coming. And now many enemies of Christ are already here. So we know that the end is near.” 1 John 2:18
I’m not into politics, but when I hear the leader of the most influential country in the world slating the Bible, taking Jesus’ words out of context and blatantly showing contempt for his Creator, then it’s hard to sit back and say nothing.
YouTube is littered with angry responses to the USA president’s foolish speech and his blasphemous comments are old news, so I’m not going to dwell on it.
Yes, I said ‘foolish speech’, not out of disrespect but because that’s exactly what God calls it:
“A wicked fool says to himself, “There is no God.”
Fools are evil. They do terrible things. None of them does anything good.” Psalm 14:1
Amongst other passages of scripture, the sermon on the mount was mocked and Mr. O made a firm pronouncement that he had no intention of following the teachings of Jesus. Fine. But he doesn’t leave it there. He’s addressing his country. He’s telling them to turn away from the very thing that will save it. The only reason why the United States has developed into a most blessed nation is because the founding fathers founded it on the words of the very book he is now criticising.
What is that famous quote? Don’t mock the hand that feeds you?
With all due respect Sir, that is why your country is in the state it is in…
With all due respect Sir, that is why the country you are supposed to be leading has gone from admirable to shockingly disgusting. That is why when you die, Mr. President, your title and fame will not save you.
Publicly mocking the wise words of Jesus Christ only proves your limited intelligence, no matter your political successes and college degrees.
You are no different from everybody else. Unlike Jesus, you are not immortal and if you’d read the Bible further you will have realised that one day you’re going to stand before the very person you are disrespecting. He is the one who has the authority to let you into Heaven or throw you into Hell. And there’s no congress down there. With all due respect Sir, you may find that you’re in a pit next to Adolf Hitler.
“Those false teachers are like rivers that have no water. They are like clouds blown by a storm. A place in the blackest darkness has been kept for them. They boast with words that mean nothing. By their evil desires they lead people who are just beginning to escape from other people who live in error. They promise them freedom but they themselves are not free. They are slaves of things that will be destroyed. For a person is a slave of anything that controls him.
1 Peter 2:17-19
